Get Organized for 2010

2010 is almost here!  If you’re like the majority of people out there, getting organized is high on the list of New Year’s Resolutions.  Being organized can help to reduce stress at home and at work.  It can also increase efficiency and productivity.  Most importantly, being organized allows you more time to do the things you love to do.   Here are a few simple ideas to help get organized (and staying organized!):

  • Write down your goal.  Even if it is as simple as making sure your bills are paid on time this year, write it down.
  • Break down your goal into attainable tasks and prioritize.  If your goal is to organize your office, go through one drawer/file at a time.
  • Schedule time for it.  Even 10-15 minutes a day can help you to reach your goal.
  • Designate a place for everything.  Keep similar items together and keep things where you use them.
  • Delegate!  You don’t have to do it all yourself.  Enlist family/friends/professionals to help you achieve your goal.
  • Have…less…stuff.  Period.

Here’s to a more organized, less cluttered 2010!  Cheers!
