Well, there is much dedication on the part of Mike and his staff, many of whom have been with him for 20-plus years. Then, there is the Band which embraces each performance as they know how special they are. But, the main reason these performances work is because of the support we have received from you, the Badger Band fan. Charles Gounod’s FAUST
While Madison Opera has already been called “The hottest ticket in town,” the temperature is sure to get even warmer when Faust ignites the Overture Hall stage in May. In the most popular setting of Goethe’s dramatic deal with the devil, this monumental tale is nowhere better served than by Gounod’s soaring melodies and luscious orchestration in this true “grand” opera. French conductor, Laurent Campellone (The Pearl Fishers ’07) returns to Madison Opera to lead an international cast featuring tenor David Lomeli as Faust, soprano Jill Gardner as Marguerite and David Pittsinger as Mephistopheles, in a production by acclaimed director Bernard Uzan.
